Hard work is in full swing at the CHS greenhouse! AG students are busy preparing to plant peppers and tomatoes while maintaining the greenhouse to ensure a successful growing season. Their dedication and hands-on learning are setting the stage for a bountiful harvest!

CHS Education as a Profession II students are busy preparing engaging and interactive learning stations for CES 4th graders tomorrow. These future educators are putting their passion into action and designing hands-on activities to inspire young learners. We can’t wait to see the impact they make!

Since 1926, Black History Month has honored the contributions and influence of Black individuals. This February, we celebrate history, achievements, diversity, and unity in our schools!

Congratulations to our youth wrestlers who placed in the Devil Dog Challenge Hammer Series Tournament this past weekend.

Commerce City Schools has been honored with the 2024-2025 Vision Award from the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders! This award recognizes school systems that prioritize professional learning and invest in the growth of teachers, principals, and district leaders. We are proud of this accomplishment and remain committed to continuous learning and excellence in education. We are also thankful for the support of Superintendent Billy Kirk in fostering a culture of growth and development within our schools.

Members of our team had the privilege of attending the Jackson County Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Night. It was a fantastic evening of networking and celebrating the accomplishments of businesses and individuals who make a difference in our community. The event also recognized incoming board members, including Mr. Billy Kirk. We look forward to seeing his leadership and contributions in this role.

A Historic Night for Our CHS Varsity Basketball Team! Our team secured a monumental victory, defeating the #1 team in the region and the #2 team in the state, Rabun County, with a final score of 67-49. This win is a testament to the dedication, teamwork, and perseverance of our athletes and coaches. Congratulations on an outstanding performance!

Commerce City Schools is proud to be at the UNG Career Fair today from 4:00-6:00 PM! Our team will also be at the UGA Career Fair on February 11th and will host the CCSS Career Fair at CHS on February 12th from 5:00-7:00 PM. We look forward to connecting with future educators

As promised, the Tiger Eyes accomplishment board is back up after a brief time away from our historic stadium due to progress with our facility upgrades. We are grateful to Jackson EMC for making this happen and Charles Black Construction for the assist. We are excited about our future but will always honor our past. Go Tigers!

Today, Dr. Powell and Mrs. Sparks presented at GAEL on transforming school culture through the power of “we” at CMS. Their presentation highlighted the success of leveraging teacher leaders to positively impact school culture at CMS. We are proud to showcase the incredible work happening at CMS and across CCSS!

Second Annual Tigers Wrestling Night Out! Tonight was a fantastic night for Tigers Wrestling! We kicked things off with a steak dinner served by our CMS wrestlers, followed by exciting youth, middle school, and alumni matches. We also took a special moment to recognize our seniors for their dedication and leadership. The night wrapped up with a big win, as our Tigers defeated Stephens County! Thank you to everyone who came out to support.

Tonight, we proudly honored our incredible senior wrestlers at the Second Annual Commerce Tigers Wrestling Night Out. These young men have shown unwavering dedication, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout their time on the mat, and we are beyond grateful for their contributions to our program.
