As promised, the Tiger Eyes accomplishment board is back up after a brief time away from our historic stadium due to progress with our facility upgrades. We are grateful to Jackson EMC for making this happen and Charles Black Construction for the assist. We are excited about our future but will always honor our past. Go Tigers!

Today, Dr. Powell and Mrs. Sparks presented at GAEL on transforming school culture through the power of “we” at CMS. Their presentation highlighted the success of leveraging teacher leaders to positively impact school culture at CMS. We are proud to showcase the incredible work happening at CMS and across CCSS!

They are touring the school and learning about the exciting courses available to them next year. Second Annual Tigers Wrestling Night Out! Tonight was a fantastic night for Tigers Wrestling! We kicked things off with a steak dinner served by our CMS wrestlers, followed by exciting youth, middle school, and alumni matches. We also took a special moment to recognize our seniors for their dedication and leadership. The night wrapped up with a big win, as our Tigers defeated Stephens County! Thank you to everyone who came out to support.

Tonight, we proudly honored our incredible senior wrestlers at the Second Annual Commerce Tigers Wrestling Night Out. These young men have shown unwavering dedication, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout their time on the mat, and we are beyond grateful for their contributions to our program. 📚 CMS Student & Author James Wood Hosts Book Signing! 📚 We are so proud of James Wood, a talented CMS student and author of James and the Seafood Boil! Today, he held a special book signing at CMS, sharing his incredible work with classmates and staff. Everyone in his class received a signed copy! If you missed today’s event, don’t worry! You have another chance to meet James and get a signed copy at his next book signing at the CCSS BOE on Monday, February 10, from 4:30-5:30 PM. Come support this amazing young author—we can’t wait to see where his writing journey takes him next! 📖✨

🎶⚾️ “It’s a Hit!” – CPS First Graders Knock It Out of the Park! ⚾️🎶 Our amazing first graders at CPS hit a home run tonight with their performance of It’s a Hit! This baseball-themed musical showcased their talent, hard work, and enthusiasm, and we couldn’t be more proud! A huge shoutout to Mrs. Hall, our wonderful music teacher, for her dedication and guidance in bringing this show to life. From the catchy songs to the adorable choreography, our young stars brought energy and joy to the stage. Thank you to our staff, families, and community who cheered on our performers. Way to go, first graders—you truly knocked it out of the park!

We are so grateful to Simply Southern at the Commerce Tanger Outlets for their generous donation of tote bags for the staff at Commerce City Schools! Their kindness and support mean so much to our educators, and we truly appreciate their commitment to our schools and community. Thank you for helping us show appreciation to our incredible staff!

Commerce City Schools Two-Hour Delay – Jan. 23 To allow road conditions to improve for safe transport, Commerce City Schools will open two hours later on Thursday, Jan. 23. Buses will run on a delayed schedule. Staff should report as scheduled, as long as travel conditions permit. Safety remains our top priority.

🏀 Let’s Pack the Gym and Support Our CMS Girls! 🏀 The CMS Girls Basketball Championship Game has been moved to Thursday night at 5:30 PM at Commerce High School Gym. All CMS students get in FREE! Our girls have worked hard all season—let’s show up, show our support, and cheer them on to victory! Let’s bring home the 🏆!

Commerce City Schools Closed Wednesday, Jan. 22 Due to icy conditions and winter weather, Commerce City Schools will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 22 to ensure the safety of students and staff. Thank you for your understanding. Stay safe and warm!

Thank you to Nicholson Baptist Church, our valued Partners in Education, for covering car rider duty this morning at CPS & CES. Your support allowed our teachers and staff to stay warm inside with our students. We truly appreciate your generosity and commitment to our school community.

Due to an updated adjustment to the weather forecast, Commerce City Schools will release one hour early today, and all after-school activities are canceled. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. Go Tigers!
