Today, district office staff visited Commerce Elementary School to share the joy of reading with students! At CCSS, we know that literacy is the foundation of learning, and we are committed to fostering a love for reading in every student. It was a wonderful day filled with storytelling, laughter, and a shared appreciation for the power of books.

We are thrilled with the incredible energy and participation at our first Youth Speed & Agility Program session! This free program is open to all junior athletes (ages 5 and up), with or without football experience. Itās a fantastic way to build strength, speed, and confidence while learning from our top-notch coaching staff.

We are thrilled to recognize Abbigail for her dedication, flexibility, and commitment to our students and staff. Her hard work and positive attitude make a difference every day.


Mrs. Patrickās and Mrs. Suberās fourth-grade classes visited CHS for interactive learning stations led by CHS TAP II students! Fourth graders practiced math skills and explored career paths, while TAP II students put their future careers into action. Big Tigers and Little Tigers learning togetherāthis is what true collaboration is all about!











Students in Ms. Searsā class had a blast exploring the properties of light and sound! They created their own musical instruments and even witnessed science in action as light shined through a water bottle. Hands-on learning makes science so much fun!









We are proud of the amazing opportunities available to our students at CCSS! This week, our CHS Education as a Profession students attended Future Georgia Educator Day at the UGA Tate Center.
Around 40 students had the chance to hear from Jenny Cofield, a 2025 Top 10 Finalist for Georgia Teacher of the Year, and explore career paths in speech-language pathology, school counseling, CTAE, and mathematics education. They also attended a college fair featuring ten local colleges with educator prep programs.
Our Tiger Teachers in Training had a fantastic experience thanks to PAGE and UGA!











Ms. Shiflet's HOSA (Future Health Professionals) was presented with a grant in the amount of $2,460 from HireSmart Cares. This grant will help pay for 15 CHS HOSA members to attend the State Leadership Conference in Atlanta next week. Thank you so much to HireSmart Cares for their support of our students and CTAE programs.


Tonight, we celebrated our 2024-2025 Teachers of the Year at the annual TOTY banquet sponsored by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. Congratulations to these exceptional educators who inspire our students every day!







Spring Sports are in full swing at Commerce City Schools!
The energy is buzzing, and the excitement is growing as our spring sports teams hit full stride! Our athletes and coaches are giving their all and showcasing incredible talent this season.
Catch the action and cheer on our Tigers as they compete, work hard, and grow both on and off the field. Every game, race, and match brings new stories, and we canāt wait to share the highlights with our Tiger fans.











Laura Martin, one of our agriculture Work-Based Learning students, had the opportunity to speaking to the Four Seasons Garden Club today. She talked about her experiences in FFA, her job at Simple Blessings Florist and her plans for the future.

Tonight, we had the honor of celebrating their achievements at the annual STAR Student Teacher Awards Dinner, sponsored by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. The PAGE Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) Program recognizes outstanding high school seniors who earn the highest SAT score on a single test date and rank in the top 10% or among the top 10 students of their graduating class.
We are so proud of Timothy for his dedication to academic excellence and grateful for the lasting impact of educators like Mr. Palmer. Congratulations to both on this well-deserved recognition!
