I want our community to know that with the recent events and the senseless act of violence that occurred at Apalachee High School, I feel it is important to reassure our staff, students, families, and the Commerce Community as a whole that we are in constant contact with our local police, local sheriff, and state agencies when we receive any online threats. We have been aware of the many threats that cowards are making towards schools and students, and it is unacceptable. Although we have not found any of the threats credible, I do believe it is vital to our success to investigate each one fully to ensure our most precious resources safety in our buildings. I have requested an extra police presence the last few days, and I am grateful for acting Chief Hicks and his staff for providing many officers inside and outside our schools along with other emergency personnel. Safety is, and always will be, our top priority in Commerce City Schools. I appreciate the outpouring of support from our community, and I know that we will defeat evil by not allowing evil to dictate our focus. Have an amazing weekend and God Bless Tiger Strong, Billy Kirk, Superintendent Commerce City Schools

Fall Sports Picture Day
On behalf of the Commerce City Schools Board of Education, I would like to take this time to inform our parents that at the July board meeting, our Board of Education approved the recommendation to provide the basic school supplies for all children in our school district. We know that the current economic outlook for all families is challenging to navigate at times, and we as a school system want to try and ease the financial burden. We have compiled a list of the basic supplies needed for your student and have placed a group order for all of our students. The supplies will be delivered to each school and distributed to each teacher for their classrooms. We have many local churches and other organizations that will be doing back to school events where they will provide free school supplies, and I would encourage you to attend these events as well. Go Tigers! Billy Kirk, Superintendent Commerce City Schools **Please see our website for items that will be purchased by grade level. (Menu ~ Resources ~ Supply Lists)

Friday, May 3rd, will be the final day of this school year for which meals may be charged without a positive account balance to support the charged amount. This is necessary to enable our Cafeteria Managers to assess their list of owed balances, notify households and close out the school year with zero negative balances. Beginning Monday May 6th students will not be able to purchase meals without payment or an account balance to support the charge. Please put sufficient money on your child’s account or send payment with them for the purchase of meals. Positive balances on the final day rollover to the next school year OR you may request a refund by e-mail or in writing to the School Nutrition Director. Positive balances for graduating seniors or students leaving the district can also be donated to our Angel Fund. The Angel Fund consists of community donated funds and is used to help families needing assistance paying their child’s school meal account.
