Today, Cameron Shirley represented Commerce City Schools at the Small Business Development Lunch and Learn, joining Work-Based Learning coordinators from Jackson County to share the benefits of work-based learning programs.
Weāre thankful for our partnerships with other coordinators and local businesses. These connections provide students with valuable real-world experiences that prepare them for future success.

Ruthie Mae Gaddis has been named the Rotary Club Student of the Month for Commerce High School!
Sheās a member of Beta Club and FCA, plays on the tennis team, and serves as the team captain. Ruthie has been recognized on the Miss CHS court, the homecoming court all four years, and was part of the girlsā region track championship team as a freshman. She has also earned an academic letter as a junior and senior.
After graduation, Ruthie plans to attend the University of North Georgiaās Dahlonega campus to major in art education.
She selected Charlie Smith as her most influential teacher.


Last week, we celebrated our CHS Lady Tigers Soccer seniors in a special Senior Night event. We are proud to honor Sarah English, Madelyn Ausborn, Madison Sanchez, and Manager Hayden Davis.
To top it off, the Lady Tigers claimed a 3-0 victory over Banks County. Way to go, team!

Our CMS FFA recently hosted an amazing Eat, Meet, and Greet event! It was a fantastic way to bring our school community together while learning more about CMS FFA and agriculture. The evening featured a wonderful crowd, delicious food, exciting FFA opportunities, and plenty of bingo prizes.






In honor of School Board Appreciation Week, we want to recognize our incredible Commerce City Schools Board of Education for their dedication, leadership, and commitment to our students, staff, and community.

We are incredibly proud of the Commerce High School Band for their outstanding performance at the grand reopening of the Commerce Civic Center! Thank you to our talented students and dedicated band director, Mr. Roye, for representing Commerce City Schools with pride. Your music brought energy and excitement to this special event, and we couldnāt be more proud!




We are excited to welcome Beth Smith as our new Assistant Technology Director! With 15 years of experience in the field, Beth brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team. We are thrilled to have her on board and look forward to the positive impact she will make in enhancing our technology department.

Congratulations to our CHS basketball players who have been nominated for BLITZ Boys Basketball Player of the Year! A huge shoutout to Essien Lockleer, Maki Mitchell, Evan Peters, and Ty Sorrells for this well-deserved recognition. Weāre proud of your hard work and dedication on and off the court.

Today, our administration team and Superintendent met with our architect and construction team to begin designing the new Commerce Elementary School. We are committed to creating the most elite elementary school in the country ā a place where students thrive, teachers excel, and our community feels connected and supported.
This project is more than just bricks and mortar ā itās about building a foundation for future generations. Stay tuned for updates as we bring this vision to life!
