
Our 8th grade students have been embracing the beauty of words during National Poetry Month. They spent the week exploring a variety of poems, writing their own pieces, and sharing their creative expressions with classmates.








Special Guest in CMS FACS Class!
CMS FACS students had a special guest as Mr. Kirk joined the class to demonstrate how to make delicious fried rice! Students enjoyed learning valuable cooking techniques and getting hands-on experience in the kitchen. Thank you, Mr. Kirk, for sharing your time and skills with our students!


A huge thank you to the CHS football coaches and players for their generous donation to support the CMS fundraiser for the Iron Giraffe Challenge, benefiting Water for South Sudan! Their support demonstrates that the sense of community and support at CCSS is truly unmatched. The students also loved having the players pass out ice pops at lunchāthank you for making the day even more special!

Ms. Sibcyās 3rd-grade class had a special visitorāMaverick, Mr. Kirkās dog! As students explored poetry that captured the traits, actions, and spirit of dogs, Maverick made a surprise appearance, giving them a real-life example to connect with their reading. It was the perfect connection between literature and real life!
A big thank you to Mr. Kirk and Maverick for making poetry even more meaningful!



April Fools' Day Fun at CES & CPS!
There were lots of laughs around CES and CPS today! Ms. Sibcyās class had a blast pranking Mrs. Puckett with some ārunning waterā ā literally! Meanwhile, Mrs. Pickle pulled off a classic with her students by offering them some delicious āBrown Eāsā⦠only to reveal a tray full of cut-out brown letter Eās.

Yesterday, we had an amazing time celebrating spring with our adaptive classes and the Extra Special Tigers! From fun activities to a special lunch and countless smiles, it was a day overflowing with joy and the incredible spirit of our Tiger community.

The Welding Simulator/Industrial Maintenance Trailer was back at CHS today!
This hands-on experience was a huge hit last year, and we were thrilled to welcome it back.
Representatives from WorkSource Northeast Georgia were on campus to guide students through the trailer, which featured simulators exploring careers in electrical, mechanical, PLCs, hydraulics, welding, and more.
It was an incredible opportunity for students to gain insight into high-demand career pathways! We are proud to provide engaging and innovative opportunities for our students at CCSS!

Inspired to Make a Difference!
Today, CMS students Gabe Tidwell and Nelson Ascencio showed how powerful literature can be. After reading A Long Walk to Water in Mrs. Sparksā class and learning about Africa in Coach Flintās class, they were inspired to take actionāraising money to build a well in South Sudan! Students and staff also gathered today to learn about the water crisis in South Sudan, how limited access to water impacts communities, and ways to team up to create change.
Starting tomorrow, CMS will sell Icee-pops for 50 cents each at lunch for 12 days to support the Water for South Sudan Iron Giraffe Challenge. Their goal is to raise $1,000 by April 18th to support clean water efforts.
