Even though summer is here, the work behind the scenes never stops at Commerce City Schools. Our teachers, leaders, and staff are already hard at work preparing for an incredible 2026-2027 school year, and we cannot wait to welcome our students back soon! The Commerce High School Class of 2026 Graduation Ceremony will be streamed live on YouTube. Join us at this link: https://youtube.com/live/rM32rrqioqU?feature=share

After careful consideration and consultation regarding weather conditions and safety, Graduation will be moved inside to the CHS Gym. Graduation will remain at the same scheduled time, 8:00 p.m. Due to gym capacity and to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all guests, each graduate received eight tickets for admission. Overflow seating with a live stream of the ceremony will be available in the CHS Auditorium. We appreciate your flexibility, understanding, and support as we work to provide a safe and memorable ceremony for our graduates and families.

We are continuing to closely monitor the weather forecast for graduation. At this time, the ceremony location is still pending and could be held either outside or inside depending on conditions. Both spaces are set up and ready pending the forecast, and we are prepared to celebrate our graduates rain or shine. Please stay tuned for the final decision. We will send out official communication tomorrow after lunch with the confirmed graduation location and any additional details. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we work to ensure a safe and memorable ceremony for everyone.

Spring Break is next week for all CCSS students and staff! We will resume normal operations on Monday, April 13th. We hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing week off.

Just a reminder that Friday, March 13 will be a Teacher and Staff Workday. Students will not report to school tomorrow. We look forward to welcoming our students back on Monday, March 16 for a great week of learning!

We will continue with our planned 2025–2026 school calendar and observe Winter Break for students this Friday through Monday.

All CCSS schools will return to normal operations tomorrow. We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we worked to make the best decisions for the safety and well-being of our community. Thank you for your continued support.

Due to hazardous weather conditions, Commerce City Schools will be closed tomorrow. The safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. While some main roads are passable, many secondary roads remain unsafe, and refreezing conditions are expected overnight. All schools and district facilities will be closed 2/2/26. We appreciate your understanding and will continue to monitor conditions for any further updates.

Due to incoming inclement weather conditions, all CCSS facilities will be closed and any planned activities are canceled throughout the weekend. We will update our community throughout the weekend as we constantly monitor the situation.

School Update for Jan. 28th

Thank you to our staff and local city teams for their work to ensure a safe return to school. Bus routes and school buildings have been checked and prepared. We look forward to welcoming students and staff back tomorrow. Please continue to stay safe and warm.

We are closely monitoring weather forecasts that indicate extreme cold temperatures and the potential for ice
accumulation in our area over the coming days. Please see the letter from Mr. Kirk for more information.

CCSS will be closed for Thanksgiving Break from November 24th- November 28th. Students and staff will return on Monday, December 1st.
