Civic Ready Mass Alerts

posted Sep 19, 2019, 4:41 AM by Tobie Jones
Notice from Jackson County EMA Director:

As you all know, Jackson County currently has weather sirens throughout the county that we use to notify our citizens that severe weather is on the way. Those sirens are becoming old and several of them don’t work anymore. It is hard to find replacement parts. We are not doing away with the weather siren program, we will still utilize the ones that are working properly.

We are making a push to get our citizens to sign up to receive alerts on our Civic Ready program. Civic Ready allows us to send warning messages out to our citizens in a more timely manner through text, email and phone calls. This program is funded through a grant that we receive each year from The Georgia Emergency Management Agency.  Attached is a letter with step by step instructions on how to sign up to receive the alerts.
